    Lifetime Achievement Honour
    Roll​

    1. 1. All Western Australia (WA) nurses and midwives are eligible for nomination in the WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards (WANMEA).
      2. Nominees must be currently employed in a WA health-related setting and currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
      3. Only one category can be selected for each nominee.
      4. Completed nominations are to be received no later than 4pm (AWST) on 1 December 2026.
      5. Nominations received after the closing date will not be accepted.
      6. All nomination information will be treated as strictly confidential.
      7. All nominations must be submitted online via the awards website at www.wanmea.com.au.
      8. All nominations must be the original work of the author and factually accurate.
      9. Nurses or midwives who received an award in 2026 cannot be nominated in the category in which they received the award but are eligible for nomination in all other categories.
      10. Nominators will receive an acknowledgement confirming receipt of their nomination. If this is not received, the nomination has not been successfully submitted.
      11. All nominees will be notified of their nomination and then later advised as to whether they have been short-listed for consideration as a finalist.
      12. The Short-listing and Judging Panels include experienced professionals from all health sectors with a wealth of expertise in nursing and midwifery. The Short-listing Panel determines the finalist nominees for each category. The Judging panel selects the winner(s) of each category and the 2027 Nurse/Midwife of the Year.
      13. The overall winner of the 2027 WA Nurse and/or Midwife of the Year award will be selected from the award category winners. All winners will be announced at the WANMEA Gala ball.
      14. The selection of the finalists, award winners and the 2027 WA Nurse and/or Midwife of the Year will be overseen by the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office. The decisions of the Short listing and Judging Panels are final and no correspondence regarding these decisions will be entered into.
      15. The Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office provides administrative oversight and support for the WANMEA.
      16. All nominations submitted become the sole property of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office and will not be returned, including any photographs or any resources sent.
      17. The Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office reserves the right to use all or part of any material (photographs, submissions or any detail) generated for the purpose of the WANMEA for any related publicity.
      18. As a condition of entry that finalists and winners must be available to participate in publicity activities, including advertising features and interviews with internal or external print, digital, and broadcast media. Contact details of finalists and winners may also be shared with sponsors.

    8. Nominations are confidential and under no circumstances should the nominee be contacted for any information or advised about their nomination.
    9. An independent advisory body, the WA Nursing and Midwifery Lifetime Achievement Council, will review all nominations and make recommendations induction to the Lifetime Achievement Honour Roll.
    10. Recipients will be informed of their induction into the Lifetime Achievement Honour Roll, with the honour formally announced at the WANMEA Gala Ball.
    11. The WA Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office oversees will oversee the selection process for inductee(s) to the Lifetime Achievement Roll.
    12. The decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
    13. The Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office oversees the administration of the WANMEA.
    14. All nominations submitted become the sole property of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office and will not be returned, including any photos or any resources sent.
    15. The Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office reserves the right to use all, or part of any material (photographs, submissions or any detail) generated for the purpose of these awards for any publicity related to these awards.
    16. As a condition of entry, inductees must be available to participate in publicity opportunities, including advertising features and interviews with internal or external print, digital and broadcast media.
